Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet landed based on standard protocol and everyone onboard, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to Brussels during the flight.
This event does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a top government figure has suffered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was compelled to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
