British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans offered its support for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
