On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard call records and evidence retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and is still unresolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another phone message, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? Then what? Wouldn't that be significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a existence here in Poland, I only wish to know," the recording stated.

The tribunal was informed that via emails, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who gathered the data, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted family friends of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail stating "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my position."

Court proceedings

The court heard the co-defendant struck up a connection online with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted using messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the months leading up to the appearance to that location, the county, in December 2024.

The court was told communications between the two accused, in November 2024, considering endeavoring to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We must take action," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their house, Mrs Spragg dispatched a communication which expressed: "We are sitting near the McCanns' home with our vehicle dark similar to private investigators. I desired to achieve this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings proceeds.
